Sarfraz Bugti launches unified police force across Balochistan
QUETTA - Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has declared that the creation of a unified police force across Balochistan would serve as a milestone in strengthening law and order across the province.
QUETTA – Balochistan is set to witness a significant overhaul in its law enforcement structure as Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti officially launched a unified police force across the entire province. The move, hailed by Bugti as a landmark achievement, aims to consolidate and streamline policing efforts, ultimately bolstering security and maintaining order throughout Balochistan.
Previously, the province operated with a somewhat fragmented police system, which, according to officials, presented challenges in coordination, resource allocation, and overall effectiveness. The newly unified force will bring all district-level police units under a single, centralized command structure. This is expected to improve communication, facilitate quicker response times to incidents, and allow for a more strategic deployment of personnel and resources to areas where they are most needed.
During the launch ceremony, Chief Minister Bugti emphasized the importance of this reform in addressing the unique security challenges faced by Balochistan. He stated that a cohesive and well-coordinated police force is crucial for combating crime, preventing terrorism, and ensuring the safety and security of the province's citizens.
The unified police force will also benefit from standardized training programs, improved equipment, and enhanced technological capabilities. This will equip officers with the necessary tools and skills to effectively tackle modern-day policing challenges. Furthermore, the initiative is expected to promote greater accountability and transparency within the police department, fostering public trust and confidence.
The Balochistan government has committed significant resources to support the implementation of this ambitious project. Officials believe that the unified police force will not only enhance law and order but also contribute to the overall development and prosperity of the province by creating a more stable and secure environment for businesses and investments. The transition to the new structure is already underway, and authorities are working diligently to ensure a smooth and seamless integration of all police units. The success of this initiative will be closely monitored, and further adjustments will be made as needed to optimize its effectiveness in the long run.
